When couples dream of eloping in Yosemite National Park, they imagine sweeping granite cliffs, breathtaking overlooks, and intimate moments far from the crowds. Abigayle & Colton’s day was all of that and more, and we had the honor of capturing it through Yosemite elopement photography and films. From their emotional first look to their sunset vows, every laugh, tear, and breathtaking view was documented so they can relive it for a lifetime.
The morning began near Tunnel View, one of Yosemite’s most iconic lookouts. Instead of joining the main overlook, we guided them to a more private, hidden spot with unobstructed views of El Capitan and Bridalveil Fall.
Here, Abigayle & Colton shared their first look, an emotional, quiet exchange away from the crowds. With our cameras rolling and shutters clicking, we captured every detail: the sound of Colton’s voice breaking when he saw her, the wind moving through her dress, and the stillness of the valley all around them. Their photos freeze the raw emotion of that moment, while their film brings it back to life; this is what makes Yosemite elopement photography and films so powerful together.
Next, we drove up to Glacier Point for their ceremony. It’s one of Yosemite’s most iconic spots for good reason; the views stretch across Half Dome and the valley below, making it the perfect backdrop for saying “I do.”
As the sun lit the cliffs, Abigayle & Colton exchanged heartfelt vows. In photos, you see the tenderness of their embrace, the tears slipping down cheeks, the way they held hands tightly. In video, you hear the tremble in their voices, the laughter breaking through their tears, and the applause that echoed in the crisp mountain air. Together, their Yosemite elopement photography and films captured every layer of the moment.
After the ceremony, we headed to Taft Point, known for its dramatic cliffs and breathtaking sunsets. This was their time to soak it all in together, just the two of them.
As the sky shifted from gold to pink to deep blue, we documented their laughter, movement, and connection against the most jaw-dropping views Yosemite offers. Their photographs are timeless and cinematic, while their film captures the motion of a twirl, the wind in their hair, and the way they couldn’t stop smiling as the sun dipped below the horizon.
To close the day, Abigayle & Colton returned to the valley floor for a cozy picnic with a waterfall cascading behind them. They shared champagne, laughter, and a chance to breathe in the joy of what they had just experienced.
These final moments tied the day together; a reminder that elopements can be both adventurous and laid-back. Their photos preserve the beauty of Yosemite’s landscapes, while their film lets them relive the sound of clinking glasses and the joy in their voices as they celebrated the start of their marriage.
When you choose to elope in Yosemite, you’re creating an adventure you’ll never forget. Having both photography and films means you’ll relive it in every way possible:
Together, they tell the complete story of your wedding day, so years from now, you can feel the wind, hear your vows, and see every breathtaking view all over again.
If you’re dreaming of a Yosemite elopement, whether it’s an intimate first look at Tunnel View, vows at Glacier Point, or epic portraits at Taft Point, we’d love to help bring your vision to life. With years of experience photographing and filming couples in Yosemite, we know the best spots, the ideal lighting, and the logistics that make the day seamless.
Your story deserves to be remembered in every way. Whether it’s the timeless stills you’ll hang on your walls or the cinematic film you’ll replay on anniversaries, your love is worth capturing fully.
